MKC Heroes

Davina Blair Service Pupil Adviser worked with parents and pupils from MKC Heroes to make handcrafted poppy wreaths. Everyone worked extremely hard to create these wreaths. Davina was delighted that the project inspired community partnership between JLB & Colgrain primary schools, the Helensburgh and District Branch of Legion Scotland and the Armed Forces community.

Mr Michael Kinsey, Royal Navy Veteran and President of the Helensburgh and District Branch attended John Logie Baird Primary and was presented with a handcrafted wreath by children from MKC Heroes, he thoroughly enjoyed meeting with the Heroes and asked if he could come back again!. Mr Kinsey advised he would lay the wreath at a small service in Rosneath Caravan Park.

MKC Heroes took part in the Remembrance Sunday Parade and a handcrafted wreath was laid at The Cenotaph in Hermitage Park on behalf of MKC Heroes. Some parents and pupils from MKC Heroes then attended a small service at Rosneath Caravan Park along with Mr Kinsey. Kay Guy commented on how welcomed the Heroes were made to feel and how impressed Mr Kinsey was that they came along with the MKC Heroes Standard.
